The next step along the road to recruiting a new vicar for St. Catherine’s has been taken … our advert has appeared on the Diocesan Website.
Please keep all those who will see this advert and respond to it in your prayers. Please also pray for wisdom and discernment for those involved in the selection procedure.
(It’s a shame that Stuttgart’s ranking as the world’s least stressful city didn’t come out in time for us to include it in the information pack for candidates 🙂 )
A prayer for the start of the new school year: written by our Sunday School children.
We pray for our schools.
We pray for all the pupils, especially those who have trouble and difficulty finding friends.
Help them to have the courage to speak to new people and make friends.
We pray for the teachers, that they can teach the children well, that the children are quiet and attentive.
We pray for parents that their children don’t have problems and if they do, they can help them.
We pray that the children travel to school and back safely.
We pray for all our Sunday School teachers and that other people come to help and teach at Sunday School.
Help us in difficult lessons, especially maths and give us strength to last the long days.
In your name,
And the sun did shine: despite the unpromising forecast and the grey start to the day a group of forty or so members of St. Catherine’s enjoyed picnicking in the sun last Sunday after the service. (The sky may be full of grey clouds but you can still see shadows so the sun was shining!)

Sunday School Teachers’ Planning for the new term – with the increasing number of children in church, especially those at secondary school, we are in need of more helpers for Sunday school.
If you are interested in joining our team of Sunday School Teachers or helpers please contact Susanna firstname.lastname@example.org as we are beginning to plan the autumn term programme for the children.
Furniture looking for a new home … are you interested?
Women’s Group At our last meeting, after a cup of tea and a chat, we sorted out the booklets containing the carols and music we use at the Carol Service. For some reason there were two versions in circulation with a different index of carols which caused some confusion at the last Carol Service. So now we can get more copies made so that everybody is able to find the right page. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, 21st September from 10 until 12 in the Anglican Centre. Gary has now kindly given me a key so there is no problem about getting in. I look forward to seeing you there.
Ladies’ Evening Group – The next meeting of the St. Catherine’s LEGS will be on Monday 18th September at Flo Steak and Burger http://www.flo-burger.de/ Bolzstr. 10, 70173 Stuttgart (they also have vegetarian and gluten free options)
They don’t take reservations so we will just have to chance it … but assuming that the weather is good there will probably be space inside. Even if we can’t reserve please let me know if you plan to come so that we can bag enough seats. email@example.com
