Why you should submit expenses
We are called to be generous and that often leads to people thinking “Oh, it’s just a pack of glue sticks for the children’s work, I won’t bother to claim for it”, but this creates two problems:
- In the end of year accounts Children’s Ministry Expenses = 0 Euro
This is neither a true reflection of the cost of this ministry, nor does it give a correct indication of the value the Chaplaincy places on this ministry. - Those with less disposable income may feel reluctant to get involved with Children’s Ministry if they feel they have to cover all the costs themselves, even though their time and talent would be a great addition to the team.
A culture of everyone submitting expenses forms means that an accurate picture of the costs of running the Chaplaincy can be obtained.
For those who can afford to; we would be very grateful, if you would write “donation” on the bottom of the form, instead of your bank details – then the treasurer will not refund you but account for the amount as a Sachspende – for which, if you are a German Tax Payer, you can also receive a Sachspendebescheinigung at the end of the year.
