Prayers answered …

A flat has been found!! No more flat hunting is necessary!  In a relatively short time we have found a  2-room flat for our chaplain-designate, Kara Werner, in Stuttgart-Heslach. It is in an old building but has been newly renovated so the bathroom and kitchen are in really good condition. There is parquet flooring throughout and a small balcony, which can be reached from the kitchen. The two rooms are a good size and newly decorated. A big bonus is the location as it is only a few stops by tram into the centre of town. The tram stop is a 5 minute walk away. It is available from 1st April so that Kara can start her time here in her own flat as she requested. We hope she will be happy there during her time with us.

Welcome Book for Kara – with a flat found Kara’s arrival is now much more concrete. We would like to prepare a welcome book for her, introducing her to her new congregation and providing her with a reference so that she can check if she can’t remember the name of the person who spoke to her after the service about a baptism, or the phone number of the person who invited her for coffee. If you would like to provide an A4 page for this book with your name, that of any relevant family members, maybe a photo, contact details and any information about your family that you would like to share with our new chaplain then please send it to welcomebook@stcatherines-stuttgart.de or pass it directly to Frances. This book will be for Kara’s personal use and not for circulation.

Hymns for Sunday

Our five-session Lent course will be starting tonight night at 7.30pm!
We’ll be following the course for groups developed by the Church of England for Lent 2018, which uses the same weekly themes as the ‘Live Lent: Let your light shine’ booklet:
Week 1: Change (21 February)
Week 2: Bread (28 February)
Week 3: Light (7 March)
Week 4: Life (14 March)
Week 5: Leaving (21 March)
Each session will follow a similar structure, with a major part devoted to the passage from the Gospel of John allocated for the week, which will be led by Solomon.
This week’s reading is John 2: 1-11, with which we are quite familiar
If you didn’t order a copy of the Lent booklet but would still like to receive the daily reflections, you can sign up for an email version or download the associated apps free of charge at the end of this page: https://www.churchofengland.org/lent
If you would like to take part in the course but can’t make it tonight, please let me know and I will send you the materials for this week.
Best,
Katy biblestudy@stcatherines-stuttgart.de
