This Saturday, 30th April, from 11:00-16:00 we will open our doors on our second event celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and our first fund-raiser of 2022.
As our treasurer, Jackie, wrote in her Annual Report – “2021: saved by the Covid Support Grants!” these will not be available in 2022, and we need to find other ways to balance our budget. Fund-raising is a vital part of this. Drawing people from the wider English speaking community and curious neighbours into events can spread the financial burden of supporting St. Catherine’s. But it is not just about the money…
Over the last two years we have been unusually restricted in our abilities to meet and socialise… we hope our Open Church event with book sale, the opportunity to grab a quick bite outside or sit and chat for longer over a cream tea in the Anglican Centre will provide a social space for the wider English speaking community to catch up with old friends, refresh their book shelves and reconnect with St. Catherine’s as a space they too can step into.
Spread the word – invite your friends – come along to help or just to shop.
See you on Saturday!
We still need offers of donations of seedlings/plants, packaged cakes/biscuits/bakes for the “cakes to go” stall – (please remember to include an ingredients list), and fiction books
Helpers for setting up and packing away also welcome. Mail jubilee@stcatherines-stuttgart.de with your offers)
