How will you observe Lent this year?
Watch + Pray – Resources for individuals from the Church of England
- Reflections via email: Sign up and get free daily Lent reflection emails (except Sundays) delivered straight to your inbox from Ash Wednesday to Easter Day. The daily emails will offer Bible readings, short reflections and a practical challenge, as well as prayers linked to weekly themes.
- There is a Church of England app for both iOS and Android – including daily audio – available to download.
- Smart speakers: Audio versions of the Lent reflections will also be available for free on Alexa-enabled smart devices from Ash Wednesday (14 February).

Maundy Thursday – Good Friday – your thoughts requested
Holy Week is a journey – it starts in triumph on Palm Sunday with the waiving of palms as Jesus enters Jerusalem. It moves through the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Trail, the Cross, the death of Jesus and ends with his glorious resurrection on Easter Day.
We are currently planning our Holy Week Schedule at St. Catherine’s and would like your thoughts on what to offer on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. How to capture this journey, the sorrow and despair – without which the Easter Joy has no contrast.
We don’t have access to church so will be meeting in the Anglican Centre.
Would you wish to attend something on one or both days? What time would suit you?
Would you wish to reflect on the passion and pray together – or discuss?
Would you want to take Communion? Would you want to wash each other’s feet?
