This Sunday 1st February – Eucharist @12:00
Hosted by Pastoral Group Matthew, followed by refreshments in the Anglican Centre.
Next Sunday 8th February – Eucharist @12:00 with children’s activity.
There will be a meeting for parents with children under the age of 10 in the Gemeindesaal, starting at 10:30. Please let us know whether you can come so that we can plan the activity for the children. cyp@stcatherines-stuttgart.de For more details please refer to the e-mail invitation you should have received last week.
Is that e-mail really from the Chaplain?
Once again people have been receiving e-mails purporting to come from the Chaplain, but which are not from him! There are simple steps you can take to check the validity of an e-mail: check the sender’s address, does it sound like the person it claims to be from? and importantly don’t reply or click on any links in an e-mail if you are unsure – contact the person via another means and check if they sent the mail.

Pancake Party on Sunday 15th – Cook, Eat, Enjoy! 🥞
On Sunday 15th February after the 12:00 service, we will gather in the side room of the Church for tea, coffee and pancakes!
What type of pancakes depends on YOU! We invite everyone to bring pancakes the way they are cooked and eaten in your country!
We know from parties in the past how many different types there are, sweet and savoury! Either ready-made or you may be able to cook them fresh. The Church has two hot plates which could be used to cook pancakes if you bring your pans or whatever equipment you need.
We definitely have a crepe maker and will make English pancakes with sugar and lemon and can also provide “German” ones with sugar and cinnamon.
We hope that lots of people will join in, bring something tasty and help make a great party!
We can’t set up until after the Old Catholics have finished their coffee, (ie after our service) so we’ll need everyone to pitch in and help set things up and also clear everything away at the end!
If you plan to bring something, please let either Jackie or Alison know.
Let’s make it a pancake party to remember!
Chaplaincy Workshop Review
After prayer and a reflection from Rev’d Ben Coulter on Romans 12: 4-6 “We who are many are one body in Christ… We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us” we looked at our chaplaincy life and the events planned for 2026 which can roughly be broken down into four themes “Worship, Fellowship, Learning, Fundraising”
We then split into two groups: one focusing on how we can encourage each member of the Chaplaincy to use their gifts and become involved in turning these plans into reality, the other focusing on how we can use what we have planned for growth, expanding the body of Christ and creating a sustainable Chaplaincy where burdens are carried by many not a few.
Following on from this we have two requests:
Show your interest:
Sign up either as a participant or part of the organising team for the events planned – on paper by seeing Roger at the back of church before or after the service – or online here
Be part of the vision: speak to a member of the council about how you can get involved in the strategic plan for the chaplaincy, maybe by joining their number at the ACM in April.
Thank you to those who prepared the workshop – especially those who provided cake.
Ash Wednesday – Evening of 18th February – we are invited to join the Old Catholics for their Ash Wednesday Eucharist followed by Fischessen. Please let Alison know if you are planning to stay for the meal so that she can provide numbers to the Old Catholics.
The next Women’s Group will be on Thursday, 19th February in the Anglican Centre. Please speak to Alison for more information or e-mail women@stcatherines-stuttgart.de
- We pray for our Council as they meet this Sunday
- We pray for those who are sick, those who are worried about relatives and friends who are unwell and all those who work in healing professions.
- We pray for those in authority in the church, especially the Archbishop of Canterbury after she was confirmed in her role this week.
