Notices for Sunday 31st August @10:00 Bilingual Eucharist

This Sunday – Joint Bilingual Eucharist @10:00
hosted by Pastoral Group Matthew and representatives of the Old Catholics
followed by fellowship with the Old Catholics in the Gemeindesaal

Our Gospel reflection will be entitled “Whose banquet are we hosting?”
Luke 14:1, 7-14
Jesus warns us in Luke 14 that true blessing is not found in honoring the powerful, but in welcoming those who cannot repay us.Yet churches today still give places of honor to the wealthy —politicians in the Philippines whose corruption robs the poor, or European businesses whose profits come from the Global South. Their names shine on plaques, while the poor remain invisible. The Gospel challenges church leaders everywhere: stop blessing injustice. Let our tables reflect God’s banquet — where the poor are lifted, the humble are honored, and justice is the measure of our faith.
