Report from the Annual General Meeting – Sunday 15th April
Despite the glorious sunshine outside over thirty people stayed on after the service on Sunday, to attend our Annual General Meeting. Reports of the activities of the church during the last 12 months were presented. The retiring Church Warden, Eric Jarman, was pleased to say that the anxiety he had felt at the 2017 AGM, regarding the recent announcement by Ken Dimmick of his retirement, had proved unfounded. We had been able to recruit a new chaplain with as much speed as these things can happen, Sunday attendance had remained constant and the congregation had seen growth in numbers. Sadly the finances showed a less cheerful picture. Although plate offerings had remained steady, planned giving had decreased due to people relocating. The treasurer reported that – although 2017 ended with a small plus – the budgets for 2018 and 2019 could not be balanced without eating into our savings in an unsustainable manner.
The new council will be looking at ways to address this and asks all members of the congregation to consider what they can do to help.
A full copy of the Annual Report will be sent in a separate e-mail and is available in church.
Elections were held and we are pleased to announce the following: Alison Seyerle was elected to serve as Church Warden. Gary Badertscher, Marianne Heldt, Eric Jarman, Katy Kefferpütz, Roger Kemps, Howard Perry, Christopher Sloan, Jackie Wellhäußer were elected to serve on the church council. Lauris Prince-Schröter was elected as Audtior and representative to the World Day of Prayer committee.
