Easter Bring and Share Lunch

To celebrate the Risen Lord together, we have decided to hold a Bring and Share lunch on Easter Day, after the 10am service. For those who don’t remember our great Bring & Share lunches from pre-Covid times, the concept is simple! Bring a plate or bowl of food, something which is easy to eat standing or with a plate balanced on your knee! Bring it already divided into pieces or portions and best with the required serving spoon. Place your contribution on the buffet table in the side room of the Church, before the service if possible. Afterwards, gather in the side room and enjoy a feast of food brought by our Church members! We will provide plates, napkins, cutlery and drinks.
Only bring something warm / hot if you have a way to keep it hot. We will not be warming or cooking anything at Church. It is also a good idea to bring a label for your dish explaining what it is and listing the key ingredients, especially if there is anything inside which people may be allergic to.
We are grateful to be able to use the side room of the Church, so we have lots of space! We hope that lots of people will stay and have a chat and get to know each other better. If you can’t or don’t want to cook, make it simple! Bring some fruit (cut up ready to eat), cheese on sticks, crisps, Bretzels or small sandwiches! It doesn’t have to be complicated. The main thing is that we celebrate together!

We look forward to seeing you after the service!

Church Cleaning Day – Saturday 20th April 10:00 onwards
Help our Old Catholic hosts get the church looking spic and span. Bring your own cleaning materials and snack.

Annual Church Meeting – 21st April @11:30
Mark your diaries for this year’s Annual Church Meeting and look out for e-mail with more information.

Appeal for a new Church Warden and Chaplaincy Council Members.
Alison writes:
I am proud, and grateful, to have been able to serve St. Catherine’s as Church Warden for six years. I welcomed our former chaplain, Rev’d Kara Werner, to Stuttgart and was able, together with my co-Church Warden, Howard Perry, to hold the fort during the interregnum until Bishop Antonio joined us as our new Chaplain last October.
But now my term of office has come to an end and I would like to stand down.
I hope, and pray, that someone from our community, perhaps a bit younger than myself, will come forward to take on this very important role.

More information about what is involved can be found here and please talk to myself or Howard

There are also at least two vacancies for members of the Chaplaincy Council and we would love to the council to better reflect the many diversities in the congregation.
If serving in this way interests you please talk to the Chaplain or one of the current council members.

We would ask anyone wishing to volunteer for the role of Church Warden or Chaplaincy Council Member to hand in their nomination form before the Annual Church Meeting so that they can be duly elected on 21st April  2024.

Church Warden Nomination Form
Chaplaincy Council Member Nomination Form

Nominees and proposers/seconders must be listed on the current Electoral Roll.
Forms should be returned to the Electoral Roll Officer or Welcome Team.

Please prayerfully consider whether you are called to stand or to nominate someone and pray for those currently serving and those considering standing for election.

Easter

MOST glorious Lord of Lyfe! that, on this day,
Didst make Thy triumph over death and sin;
And, having harrowd hell, didst bring away
Captivity thence captive, us to win:
This joyous day, deare Lord, with joy begin;
And grant that we, for whom thou diddest dye,
Being with Thy deare blood clene washt from sin,
May live for ever in felicity!

And that Thy love we weighing worthily,
May likewise love Thee for the same againe;
And for Thy sake, that all lyke deare didst buy,
With love may one another entertayne!
So let us love, deare Love, lyke as we ought,
—Love is the lesson which the Lord us taught.

Edmund Spenser – 1552-1599
