Coffee Time after our Church Service

Now that Covid has abated for the moment (although unfortunately not left us entirely) we would like to offer coffee, tea and refreshments after church again. We are looking for volunteers to set up a rota. It is necessary to  be at the Centre at about 11 am to set things up before the service, make coffee and boil hot water for tea. Then during coffee time one has to make sure the coffee and hot water are topped up and then there is the job of clearing up afterwards. If the length of time on the job seems too long, why not form a team: one person sets up, the other one clears away. This is what Jackie and myself are planning to do. The next 12 o’clock Eucharist service is on Sunday, 2nd October. I will be setting up so anyone interested in joining the rota could  turn up around 11 am and I will show them the ropes. We noticed last Sunday how much we had missed the socialising with a cup of tea or coffee and how much it was appreciated so do come forward and offer your help.  As there is not always a Sunday service (Saturday service, Outdoor service, Joint service) we aim to provide coffee about twice a month but the dates will be given in advance. I look forward to seeing you on the 2nd October.

Bible Study

Is taking a break until 19th October.

Prayers:

During the month of September (specifically 01.09.-04.10.) the Church of England focuses on the fifth of the ‘Anglican Marks of Mission’: strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
This will be the focus of our collective prayer in these weeks. (and will be taken down after this weekend)

Collection Plates:
St. Catherine’s is a self-supporting church with a negative budget. If you are new to St. Catherine’s or have not yet set up a regular bank transfer, please give what you can online via our virtual collection plate.
We have resumed having a Retiring Collection at services for any visitors and for those who prefer to ‘give’ in cash.
