Preparing for a weekend of harvest… 19th-20th October

October’s News-sheet is now online and will be available in hard copy in church / the Anglican Centre on Sunday.

A harvest of words

Helpers wanted for St. Catherine’s Mini-Booksale!

On Saturday, October 19, as part of St. Catherine’s Harvest Weekend, we will be holding a booksale in the Anglican centre. This will be a much smaller affair than the May booksale in the church, but we still need people to pitch in and help – the more we are, the more fun it will be! We need people to help set up on Friday evening (October 18, approx. 18:00 to 20:00), and on Saturday, we need friendly sales assistants and cashiers between 10:00 and 16:00. There won’t be space for one of Naomi’s wonderful bake-sales, unfortunately, but we are planning to offer tea or coffee and biscuits/cookies, so if you can bake some, get in touch! Finally, when all is over at 16:00, we will need a team to pack the left-overs away again, for next year…

If you have time to help, then please let Susanna T. know – best of all by sending her an e-mail (booksale@stcatherines-stuttgart.de).

There are other ways in which you can help as well – for instance, by telling all your friends and acquaintances about the event. We have advertising flyers, so come by the Anglican Centre and pick some up, or take some after the next service you attend. Finally, we are always happy to receive donations of good quality English-language books – they can either be dropped off at the Anglican Centre or brought along on the day.

A harvest of talents

On Saturday evening we have an evening of talent for the children planned out, please join in the celebrations. Adults can share their talents as well, be it singing, playing an instrument, reciting a poem, or rendering a special reading. For those of you who would like to participate in the talent evening please let Marianne know children@stcatherines-stuttgart.de

Everyone else put Saturday 19th October – 17:00 in church in your diaries and come to join the audience.

A harvest of food

Once again at our Harvest Festival, on Sunday 20th October, we will be collecting dried and tinned food stuffs for Schwäbische Tafel e.V.

After the service you are invited to stay for our harvest lunch, hosted this year by members of our church from India, if you would like to offer your help please contact Marianne children@stcatherines-stuttgart.de
