Looking Further ahead …..

Registration for April Serviceshttps://stcatherines-stuttgart.de/worship/services/
On the 2nd of April many more of the Corona Virus Prevention measures in Baden-Württemberg will be lifted. For some this will mean a feeling of being able to go back to doing things as they would like to do them, for others – given that the case numbers are rising again – it will involve worry.
We would like those who are attending services in April to register in advance so that we can plan how best to accommodate everyone.

Sunday 3rd April 2022 – Annual Chaplaincy Meeting
Register to attend here
Here you will also find details on making nominations for Church Wardens and Council Members for the year 2022/23.

Palm Sunday – 10th April
Readers are needed for the Passion reading – register your interest with the chaplain@stcatherines-stuttgart.de

Holy Week
The three Baden-Württemberg chaplaincies invite their members to join together, as we did during the final days of Advent, for Compline on Zoom:
Palm Sunday – Stuttgart
Monday – Freiburg
Tuesday – Stuttgart
Wednesday – Heidelberg
Pop in for one or some or indeed all.
Code will be released nearer the time. Expressions of interest to the Chaplain.

Frauen anderer Herkunft, anderen Sprachen/Women from other countries and speaking different languages
This group was formed several years ago and brings together women from other countries who, like we at St. Catherine’s, come together to worship here in Stuttgart . For many years we celebrated Advent together but unfortunately we had to cancel the last two meetings due to Covid. So instead of celebrating Advent we are now planning to celebrate Easter, as you can see from the invitation. So please make a note of the date, Friday, 22nd April 2022 from 4 pm until 6 pm in the Parish Centre of the Friedenskirche. For more information do get in touch. Jubilee events
Julie F and Alison are planning the „Cream Teas“ at the Open Church event on Saturday, 30th April – which will also include a book sale.
We will be providing traditional teas: scones, sponge cakes, muffins, biscuits, sandwiches in the Anglican Centre and would be grateful for the following: obviously, first and foremost, offers of home-baked produce and offers of help for setting up and serving. We are also asking for the loan of traditional, dainty china tea-services, frilly table cloths and three-tiered cake stands (etageres) Please contact Alison under the following e-mail address: jubilee@stcatherines-stuttgart.de to get involved.
For those with Bibliophile friends a “save the date” flier for the BookSale part of Open Church is available here. Please start to share.

Calling All Singers
We are putting together a scratch choir to sing at an evensong on Saturday 28th May. This will be part of the Katholikentag events taking part in Stuttgart. If you would be interested in singing in the choir, please email scratchchoir@stcatherines-stuttgart.de or talk to Stephen Brown or Becka Ward.

Calling Sacristans
We are fast approaching the time when at our Eucharist / Holy Communion / Mass – we will once again be able to offer wine in addition to the wafers. Training offered. Commitment maximum once a month. Please email chaplain@stcatherines-stuttgart.de (late teens / young adults not ruled out)

Prayer Post

We pray:

  • with faith for the sick and the recovering and for those waiting – and all who care for them
  • with longing for a peaceful solution in the Ukraine and all areas of conflict in our world
  • with gratitude for our 4 key volunteers working on the Refugee Project as this project develops
  • with joy for our (currently 8) Confirmation candidates: Anthoinette Brian Christopher Jordan Laurine Philippa Ruby Tracey and the two joining us from Heidelberg as well as Davy and Eliott awaiting their baptism
  • with thankfulness for all who have visited or joined St Catherine’s recently
  • with faith – which part of the world will you pray for this week ?

Confirmation
We have a new date for Bishop David travelling to Stuttgart for our Confirmation service – Sunday 19th June – all being well !
Do pray for our candidates and their families. There is still time for any others to join this group – https://stcatherines-stuttgart.de/thinking-about-confirmation/
